Actress Carice van Houten plays Melisandre on Game of Thrones. In season 5 of the show, the character asked Stannis Baratheon to burn her daughter alive in sacrifice to R’hllor, the Lord of Light. This was among some of the most messed up I’ve seen on the show since season 1.
